This week I was at Loughborough with a team of footwear designers from adidas who were conducting testing with England players who were at the NCPC for a training camp prior to their departure for NZ. Since we signed our deal with adidas we have been working on a few different projects, testing and developing products for cricket. adidas have never really been involved in cricket before on a global level (the deal with the Australian cricket team is a local deal) so we are working with German-based designers who have no understanding of the game at all. Ultimately, this works in our favour because they approach traditional products with an entirely new and objective perspective, but it is also interesting to see how curious they find the game.
