Tallulah in London

My just turned 11-year-old niece, Tallulah, spending a month in the UK with her grandparents, came to stay with us in London for a few days. I took Friday off work and we headed out to see the sights.

First stop was Buckingham Palace to see the Changing of the Guard - with about ten thousand others it seemed! We managed to find a pretty good spot to see the guards entering the grounds but couldn't see much when they got in!

Tallulah standing in front of the gates (later when everyone had gone) -

Once the action all moved behind the gates, we made our way to the Royal Mews. One of the many ceremonial carriages on display -

We saw a few horses in stables, but not many as I believe most were out on duty. A statue (I hope statue and not stuffed horses and riders...) in one of the buildings in the mews -

From Buckingham Palace we walked along The Mall to the Horse Guards Palace. Tallulah with one of the guards -

From there we walked down Whitehall to see Big Ben/Houses of Parliament and than back to Trafalgar Square -

From Trafalgar Square we walked to Piccadilly Circus -

And then along Regent Street to Hamley's (what may have been Tallulah's favourite bit...but yes, it was pretty cool) -

Tallulah was awesome and walked the whole day without complaint!

The next day we went via Chinatown -

- to Leicester Square to buy tickets to see the matinee performance of Billy Elliot. A great show and two great days out in London!
