Christmas lunch

We had Christmas lunch at home with a special guest appearance by the lovely Alexandra Barclay. For the sake of posterity (rather than pride) and for a complete chronicle of our day, this is a photo of our lunch. I went with chicken (free range, organic) because turkey is just too big and not so great. I made it a bit more festive with a stuffing of cranberries and pistachios which Nick thinks was the highlight. The pigs in blanket are mandatory in the UK, and the vegies were pretty good. My carrots were a bit dark - I should have picked better ones for the photo! We also had ham on the side. Dessert was another non-traditional dish as I don't like plum pudding, so we went with a Bill Granger's Banana Butterscotch Pudding. I had also made rocky road and some Christmas cookies (which went a bit wrong) but they didn't get a look in as we had already eaten way too much. All up, pretty happy with our lunch but already looking forward to next year!
