Update #5.
Eating: Breakfast is usually Weetabix and/or Rice Krispies (Rice Bubbles) and/or Cornflakes and/or toast - today he had 2 x Weetabix, sometimes he will eat a Weetabix followed by a small bowl of Rice Krispies, followed by a piece of toast. It really depends on the day with Milo. Sometimes he will eat loads, sometimes it's hard to get him to eat anything. Lunch could be omelette, baked beans, ham sandwich, cheese toastie, cheesy pasta. Dinner is whatever we're eating and again, depends on the day if he will eat it or not. He loves sausages, corn, pasta, fish cakes, olives, mushrooms. He told us recently that spaghetti and meatballs was his favourite food so I made it today. Then we spent the whole dinner negotiating around him actually eating it (and it was good!) Snacks are apples, raisins, crackers with Vegemite.
Sleeping: Milo's pretty good with sleeping. We have the odd day where he's is difficult at bedtime (usually after nursery where he has a nap - he never naps when he's home), but if he's had a big day he will happily go to bed around 7.30pm and sleep until 6.30am. A few months ago Milo was waking in the 5s - sometimes even before Henry and then waking Henry up, but we've put a big effort into him staying in bed until 'green clock' - he has a special clock for kids that turns green at 6:30am. Though it doesn't happen every day - sometimes he gets up before his clock is green and comes in to our room, however it's never before 6am which is a huge improvement.
Playing: Superheroes are still his favourite toys, although possibly because we took his Ben 10 figures away from him as they seemed to be linked to some pretty silly behaviour. He has a secret identity - 'Secret Agent Milo Ben' and often tells us how he has secret agent meetings at nursery with his best friends Bailey and Alex. He like the Imaginext toys (the Bat Cave, the Bat Prison, the Batmobile etc) and Duplo. He definitely prefers indoor play to outdoors - the playground doesn't have much appeal for him (although that could be largely the weather at the moment). He still loves Little Gym. His favourite thing right now is my old Baby G watch - Nick got a new battery for it and Milo loves it (he even insisted on wearing it to bed the first few nights).
Learning: Milo can count really well, easily to 20 and right up to 100 with a little bit of help. He recognizes all the numbers and can add small numbers together (2+2, 3+1 etc.) He knows a handful of letters - all the letters of his own name and A, B, C, K, N, P, X and a few others. He doesn't like practising writing but can write his name pretty well.
Other: We had about a week recently of really terrible behaviour but that suddenly seemed to pass - apparently not unusual at 4. He still has some moments though, a lot of it seemingly attention seeking/Henry jealousy (he's much better behaved when it's one-on-one with either me or Nick) - and it usually means it's impossible to get him to do anything. He will just flat-out refuse to leave the house or get dressed or whatever it is you're trying to get him to do. Can be very exhausting. However, on the other hand, he can be incredibly thoughtful and caring and affectionate. He regularly tells us all (including Henry and the baby) that he loves us and will often say very sweet things completely unexpectedly ('I like your shirt, Daddy' or 'you look beautiful, Mummy').
Favourite thing: Unprompted, he often says to me or Nick or friends, 'I hope you have a nice day at work/fun playing with Henry/a nice weekend/a nice dinner/a good time at the park' - always at the appropriate time when saying goodbye to someone. I have no idea where this came from, but I love it.
