Today was a perfect Spring day for the first day of England v Sri Lanka at Lord's. It has been busy all week with final preparations for the Test - lots of painting and grass mowing and supplies being delivered. It has also meant going through a metal detector and bag search every time I entered the ground.
Through the trees you can see the ECB offices - separate to the actual ground (which is to the right of the photograph) and right next to the food services. Very difficult to get work done when thousands of people are enjoying themselves less than 100 meters from your desk.
Our offices above. Oh...and they actually played some cricket too. England won the toss and elected to bat. Marcus Trescothick got 106 so his name goes up on some famous board in some room. Score after day 1 is England 318-3. Go England!
