I've been trying to get these posts done on the monthly anniversary of their birth (ie. the 2nd for Henry and the 3rd for Milo) but I haven't managed to succeed yet. These images have been sitting in my drafts for 10 days and already feel a bit out of date so here goes...
Eating: During the week it's pretty consistently Weetabix (it is actually Weetabix here, not Weet-Bix - although they are pretty much the same). Sometimes pancakes, usually at Milo's request. Today I made them both an omelet with some parma ham and cheese and they both loved it. He determinedly feeds himself and will refuse to eat if you try and help him. This makes for a lot of mess (yogurt, anything with rice) but sometimes he will be appeased if you let him feed himself the first few mouthfuls, then he will let you feed him the rest.
Sleeping: No major changes here, still around 7:15pm to 5am. Today was a random 5:30 for no apparent reason and it felt like a miracle. Nick and I alternate morning get-ups and the days where you get to 'sleep-in' until 6.30 or 7am are such a treat.

Playing: Like his big brother he loves Po, the Teletubby. (Milo picked out our original pre-loved Po at a church fete for £1, having never watched the show. We now have a bigger, dancing version and a bath toy too). He likes whatever Milo is doing (usually something with action figures), blocks and musical instruments. He is quite good at 'mark-making' (what nursery call colouring-in for babies).
| Blocks. Not his stacking, obv, although he can do 2 or 3 on his own. |
Milestones: WALKING!!! I need to get a video as although it's really only been a bit more than a week, he is getting better quickly and looking less awkward (which is so cute!)
Teeth: The 12 I mentioned last update are now fully up and there doesn't seem to be any more coming through at the moment.
Other: Henry had a fairly mild version of Hand, foot and mouth disease which he's over now but lasted for about a week. I think this disease totally needs a re-brand to something that makes it sound less like the far more serious Foot-and-mouth disease that can be devastating for farming... Anyway, we had a couple of broken nights and slight fever when it was coming on, but once it was diagnosed he was in good spirits but because it's so infectious still had to stay home from nursery all week.
As I've mentioned, he can be a big grump and for the last few weeks he has perfected a horrifying new way of showing us how upset he is. Previously he would occasionally fling himself backwards if you put him down when he didn't want you to which was manageable. Now he quite deliberately head-butts the floor - tiles, wood, whatever. Hard. We're not quite sure what to do about this - we hope he gets over it soon.
Favourite thing: He usually lets out a little squeal when I come home from work. He is also a massive hugger and will put his little arms around your neck and hold on for ages.
