Now that the inside is mostly sorted, the work on the front is starting to happen. Last week the bricks were cleaned which removed probably 100+ years of dirt and grime, some bleeding of the darker bricks on to the lighter ones (but not all of it), as well as the white paint covering the bluestone lintels and footings. It's likely that the paint was not an original feature and we much prefer the bluestone. The tuck pointing is booked to start next week and then the verandah roof will be replaced and everything will be painted. We haven't got around to sorting the front fence yet, but that's next on my list.
