The mews house

  1. mews (used with a sing. or pl. verb)
    1. A group of buildings originally containing private stables, often converted into residential apartments.
    2. A small street, alley, or courtyard on which such buildings stand.
Finally we have moved into our new house! A few issues - it has just been refurbished so we are waiting on all of the furniture to be delivered and a few things to be fixed - but everything else is great. It's in a fantastic location - very close to Regent's Park and Marylebone High Street, 10 minutes walk to Oxford Street and good for tube stations. The house is split over 3 levels (not as grand as it sounds) - kitchen downstairs, reception room on the ground floor and bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs - so lots of walking up and down! And it's a Crown Property so the Queen is our landlord. No kidding! On our lease it says 'Landlord: The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty'.

The mews. The first house is ours.

The huge, cavernous, underground kitchen.

Our bedroom. We like the exposed beams. Probably used to be the loft where they kept the hay.
