Oslo, Norway

It's cold, but unfortunately not cold enough for snow - about 9 degrees every day. It seems I have chosen a bad time to come - and everyone is saying that it will be a late winter anyway. I was hoping to be able to ice skate (not very well) or ski (even less well) but nothing will open until early-mid December.

Oslo is nice - even in the rain. I have managed to see a few touristy things (a few galleries, the Cultural History Museum) while Nick has been working and today we both saw maybe the best thing of all - Vigeland Park (see below). I have also managed some shopping (H&M released their exclusive Stella McCartney-designed collection on Thursday and now realise I was lucky not to be in London where people apparently lined up for hours and it was chaos...relatively calm here, although most things still sold out in less than 24 hours), and there are some nice big book stores (about half of which are english language titles) and cafes (good coffee here, and suprisingly no Starbucks).
