So today is 40 weeks - the official due date. Of course, the due date is more accurately the 'expected' date of delivery (EDD) - and only 5% of babies are actually born on the EDD. Full term is considered anywhere from 37 (or sometimes 38) weeks to 42 weeks and apparently first time babies tend to be in the second half of that window. Most interesting of all is that if I lived in France where the EDD is calculated at 41 weeks, I wouldn't be due until next Saturday! Anyway the point is, he's not late, just comfortable.
I had an appointment at the hospital on Thursday and everything is still fine. I'm feeling good, sleeping and eating pretty much as normal, everything is ready and I'm just trying to relax until he arrives. Nick, however, is becoming more anxious as the days pass, getting ready to spring into action as soon as I give the signal!
