Milo was one of two names we had arrived at after months of discussion. Ultimately we wanted something that was kind of unique but not too unusual. We also had a third option, but it was a distant third after the preferred two. We were still struggling to choose right up until the end so decided that we would make the final decision after he was born. Various naming books/websites have different origins for the name Milo - either Latin, English or Germanic - and a few different meanings including 'soldier' and 'merciful'. The meaning that resonated most strongly with us was the Germanic 'mild, peaceful, calm' as this was exactly how he was when he arrived and so it wasn't difficult in the end to decide on Milo. Just six days later and we couldn't imagine him being called anything else.
Edward is after my dad who is Graeme Edward and Parker is a second middle name - we have never been keen to hyphenate and I'm happy for him to be Corr after his dad, however it was important for me to include Parker (a tradition which is not uncommon in the UK and something we will continue should we have other children). So full name Milo Edward Parker Corr and Milo Corr for everyday life.
