Tower of London

On Friday Norma and I took the boys to the Tower of London which perfectly suited Milo's new interest in castles and knights but was also great for me as I had never been before. It was far more touristy than I expected, although that shouldn't really have been surprising given it is a major tourist attraction. It wasn't so much that there were lots of tourists (though there were lots of tourists) but more that it was so immaculately restored. I expected something a little more crumbling ruins, less theme park.

We spent most of our time just looking around the grounds but we did go and see the Crown Jewels and seriously, they are mind-blowingly spectacular. Overall we were only there a short time - the boys don't last that long anywhere - but I have now joined the Historic Royal Palaces so we can go again any time (and expect to see posts on Hampton Court Palace - something I've wanted to see for ages - Kew Palace and the Banqueting House soon.)

Crown Jewels in here.
