We had been considering buying tickets for Lollibop (a 1-day festival for under-10s in London) but had hesitated at the price - it was going to be over £100 for all 4 of us. Fortunately I managed to get some freebie blogger tickets via Hopper just a few days prior which was very cool! This was our second time at Lollibop (I posted a few pics from the first time here) but it's now held in Regent's Park which makes it very convenient for us! This is our day (taken from the review I wrote for Hopper as I'm too lazy to write it all again...) -
We got there early to catch the Mr Men and Little Miss Party Roadshow at 10:15. I would highly recommend this strategy for attending any major event (one of the few perks when you're up early with kids anyway) - there were no queues, no crowds and we got a perfect spot in front of the stage. Milo has just recently become a fan of the Mr Men books so this was ideal for us and the show was great - we had no idea what to expect but it was high energy, lots of fun and Milo loved seeing the characters live on stage. We stayed for the Zing Zillas (which we also loved) and then walked around to take in more of the festival. Henry and I checked out the 3ft & Under area which was perfectly suited to him and we also saw some Music with Maddy which he really enjoyed. After some lunch (there were lots of quiet and shady spots to eat) and a wander around to take in some of the other events and activities we found a spot in the Lollipalladium to watch Mister Maker and The Gruffalo. Although we were impressed with the quality of all the live shows we saw, The Gruffalo was easily the highlight for the day being an all-round excellent adaptation of the Julia Donaldson classic.
It was a hot day (about 31 degrees - a scorcher for London!) so one of the perks was definitely having access to the Blogger Lounge which had tables/chairs, free drinks and snacks and was very shady. Not sure we would have lasted nearly as long had we not had access to this. But all up a pretty good day, and had we paid full price it probably still would have been worth it.
