Olympics - London 2012

Here are some pretty average (iPhone) pictures from our night at the Olympics (Saturday night, swimming finals) but we were there! London has gone completely, absolutely, stark raving bonkers over the Olympics. Everyone is talking about it, everyone is loving it. Of course it helps when Team GB are doing so well...which is seemingly made all the sweeter when Australia is doing not so well... Yes, you can assume we are hearing a bit about it from our Brit colleagues. However I am fully behind Team GB (despite being the only one in this house without a UK passport...) - it's hard not to get caught up in all the excitement. On the mornings I get up with the boys, we switch on the BBC and eat our breakfast in front of the TV, watching the highlights. Milo definitely loves it and I think Henry does too, though neither will probably remember it. (I have very distinct memories of  watching Moscow in 1980, getting ready for school in the middle of winter, but obviously I was a few years older than Milo.) Anyway, back to our night.

Everything has been done brilliantly well. From getting off the the train to arriving in the ground, everyone was cheerful and helpful and we didn't have any delays or queues. Too easy.

We bought a flag to get behind the Aussies -

Michael Phelp's swimming his leg in the 4x100 Relay (he's in front and the US won). This was his final Olympic swim (unless, of course, he plans a come back) -

PS. The boys were at home with Bernadette, one of the lovely staff at nursery who has done a bit of babysitting for us previously (as much as we love them, our tickets were about £250 each and they really wouldn't have appreciated it!) She works in Henry's room so Henry knows her very well and he was absolutely beside himself when she arrived. So no issues at all with us leaving and apparently the boys were very well behaved and went to bed without a problem.
